The Amendment of Grant Scheme for Foreign Students
I. The Grant payable to foreign students by TRNC State: The grants are entitled to foreign students those who are coming from 3rd World countries.
The full grant includes the following education expenses for students: the university tuition fee per semester, accommodation fee (600 $) per semester, books (100 $), and 200 $ pocket money per month.

II. The Grant Committee and the Committee Meetings
The Grant Committee is formed by 3 representatives, appointed by the following bodies:
  1. TC Embassy
  2. Vice President and Foreign Affairs
  3. TRNC Ministry of Education
The Grant Committee shall in the first semester of the academic year (usually in September) and before the start of the second semester (usually in February).
The Grant committee negotiates all the issues (reports, review of support grants…etc) related to the grants.

Announcement of Students’ Entitlement to the Grant:
The TRNC Ministry of Education will inform the University’s Student Affairs about the students those eligible to receive the grant.

III. Amendment of the Grant Duration
1. The grant is entitled to the students in Spring and Fall semesters only if they continue to show academic success.
2. The award entitlement of those students who achieve to obtain minimum CGPA and GPA of 2.00 continue to receive the grant in the following semester. The students have a right to petite to the Grant Committee about their University Education via the TRNC Ministry of Education.
3.  TRNC State Support Grant are limited with the following education periods: 
Undergraduate (B.A) 10 terms (including English Preparatory School)
Postgraduate (M.A) 4 terms
IV. Amendment of the Continuation of Grant Entitlement
  1. As soon as the student is awarded the grant, she/he should make her/his registration no later than a month (within a month). In the case of failing to register, the student’s right to receive the support grant is reserved during one semester and then cancelled.
  1. Every student should achieve to obtain minimum grade of 2.00 for CGPA and GPA, if undergraduate, and 3.00, if postgraduate (master’s) students, in order to be eligible for receiving the support grant.
The Turkish Republic Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Ministry Education and Culture shall review the academic achievement of each student. If the student fails to meet the criterion, stated in item 2, she/he will be warned and her/his academic situation will be reconsidered by the TRNC Ministry Education and Culture. Failure to prove her/his achievement will be resulted as his/her exclusion from the support grant list.
The duration that students participate to the school is important for the continuation of the support grant. If student is absent from the school s/he is warned. If s/he repeats her/his absenteeism, her/his name will be excluded from the grant list or put into a waiting list (excluding those who are ill…etc.)
  1. If the granted student wants to continue the university’s summer school, s/he may receive the support grant provided that s/he obtains GPA 3.50 and above, CGPA 3.00 and above, GPA 3.00 and above, CGPA 3.50 above. The grant will cover the student’s pocket money, course or courses’ tuition fee and accommodation fee.
  1. If the student wants to move to another university, s/he should write a petition to the Grant Committee. Followed by the review of her/his petition by the Grant Committee, s/he will be informed about the taken decision. If s/he is not eligible academically to meet the Grant Committee criterion, her/his grant situation will be filed.
  1. If the student works at full-time basis, her/his grant entitlement will be automatically ignored. Also, those who work at a part-time basis or as an assistant at the university and gets more than half of the minimum work salary, s/he will not be eligible for the grant.
  1. If the student succeed to graduate with GPA and CGPA 3.00 and also keen to continue her/his masters, s/he will be eligible to apply the Grant Committee for the continuation of her/his support grant during the summer].
