Computer Engineering - General Information

The aim of the B.Sc. Computer Engineering degree programme is to provide students with knowledge and understanding of the fundamental principles and technology in the discipline of computer engineering.  The four year undergraduate degree course provides students with all necessary practical skills, through the use of current tools and techniques for the design and development of software and computer hardware.  The academic staff within the department encourages students to develop as independent and self critical problem solvers, so that graduates will be able to find productive employment in the computer-related industries.

Our Computer Engineering degree programme integrates technical requirements and electives to prepare the students for a professional career in the computing and information technology.  After mastering the fundamentals of computer engineering, the programme enables students to orient their study towards specialisation through electives, directed by personal advisors within department.  The main areas in which the electives are focused, are database design, hardware design, development of software applications, and computer networks.  Graduates will have solid understanding of the technicalities of both computer  hardware and software, together within a deeper knowledge of their chosen of their chosen specialist area.
