logistics-management

Today’s global economy heavily relies on the mobility of information, goods, products, supplies, materials, and people for most organizations to operate effectively. Management of logistics entails detailed planning and execution of an operation. A logistics management system integrates diverse business facilities, functions, and activities to ensure that goods and services are delivered to clients as effectively as possible.  Cost trade-offs and total cost analysis are also important in logistics management. Achieving efficiency in logistics is accomplished by developing knowledge of transportation, inventory control, warehousing, material handling, purchasing, and production control as well as the tools that are necessary to analyse and coordinate these activities.

This programme provides students with a general overview of Logistics as a topic of study and focuses on important functions of Logistics such as warehousing and inventory management, and their role in Logistics Management. There are many career opportunities in the field of Logistics Management, including Logistics Manager, Integrated Programmes Director, Inventory Manager and Supply Chain Planning Manager among many others.
