Agricultural Technology
Agricultural foods are of great importance for human nutrition. Not only the existence of humanity but also the development of societies is directly proportional to their correct agricultural activities. The Covid-19 pandemic, which has seriously threatened our world, especially since 2019, has caused a lack of both intermediate staff and specialists in food supply and agricultural businesses. On the other hand, the destructions of soil, water, and the environment make agricultural production difficult. For this reason, the need for trained personnel to perform the necessary activities in agricultural areas is increasing.
With the Agricultural Technology program to be opened in this context, it is aimed to meet the need for qualified intermediate staff who know the cultivation of fruit and vegetable plants, together with all maintenance operations and soil cultivation, disease and pest control, irrigation and fertilization, pruning, harvesting and post-harvest preservation. In the applied courses, the students will take part in one-to-one production and will have the opportunity to reinforce the topics they have learned in the theoretical courses. The main aim of the program is to train technicians who are able to work successfully in agricultural enterprises and agricultural facilities along with the sector needs, graduates who know and apply agricultural Technologies and ensure quality and sustainability in production, graduates who follow and develop new production techniques, produce solutions specific to the field and problem, graduates who would become researchers and professionals in their area, who are ethically conscious, as well as who constantly renew themselves.
Our graduates will receive the title of Agricultural Technician. Persons who will graduate from this program will be able to be employed in enterprises engaged in the production and marketing of agricultural products as technical intermediary staff, mid-level managers, or assistant Agricultural Engineers or in relevant public or private institutions. It is thought that it will be easy for the graduates of the program to find a job in the relevant fields, since there is a serious shortage of personnel who can follow these developments in the sector, adapt themselves to new Technologies, and specialize in the field of agricultural production, in today’s world where technological developments are advancing faster than in all times.
