Highest Lead by EUL
With sound yet solid steps, statistics have shown that EUL continues to lead towards its aim to be the best with highest development rates in recent years with a significant rise in the number of students, reinforced campus infrastructure, academic staff, new faculties, vocational schools and programmes.
The Rector of European University of Lefke, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Yükselen has attracted attention, by commenting on the significant rise in the number of students, stating that EUL reached the highest leading rates according to 2016 Student Selection and Placement Examination (SSPE) results, amongst the TRNC universities.
Yükselen: EUL recorded the highest leading rate amongst TRNC universities
According to 2015 SSPE results, 1739 students had chosen EUL for higher education and now this number is recorded to be 2147 students for 2016. Comparing to the previous year, 408 more students have selected EUL thus reaching a leading rate of 23.46%. Yükselen emphasized that these statistics have placed EUL to the top of the ladder in Higher Education within the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Yükselen has underlined that in the previous year’s statistics, EUL was preferred 5th university amongst the TRNC universities, whereas this year this has improved to being the top 3.
Yükselen: For the first time in the history of EUL, it has been chosen to be the 3rd most preferred university in the TRNC.
Initiating his duty in 2013, according to SSPE results, 870 students had selected EUL while in contrary this number was increased by 146.78% in 2016 by reaching up to 2147 students. Yükselen stressed that in 2013, 12.56% of the total number of students preferring TRNC universities had selected EUL while this year this number raised up to 17.95%, which is certainly a matter of honour.
Achieving such a success within the last 3 years, is recorded as the highest rate amongst the TRNC universities. Yükselen stated that EUL will continue to enhance and develop year by year decisively.
Having been ranked as the highest on the ladder of leading success comes with a foundation of developments within laboratories and technical infrastructure, expanded academic staff and establishment of new programmes. Proper investment in foundation has positively affected EUL which has resulted in highest scorers in SSPE and quality assurance of Academia.
6 New Programmes in 2014
In the Academic year 2014-2015 three new Schools were established. The new programmes that underlie among these vocational schools were Physiotherapy, First and Emergency Aid, Medical Documentation and Secretarial Services, Medical Laboratory Technique, Health Services, Justice and Nursing.
17 New Programmes in 2015
EUL commenced its Academic Year 2015-2016 with 11 Associate’s Degree and 6 Undergraduate Degree programmes. The Undergraduate Degree programmes included: Mentally Handicapped Teaching, Architecture (Turkish), Interior Architecture (Turkish), Computer Engineering (Turkish), Electrical and Electronics Engineering (Turkish), Civil Engineering (Turkish). The Associate Degree Programmes consisted of: Culinary Arts, Surgery Services, Anaesthesia, Child Development, Dialysis, Handicapped Care and Rehabilitation, Home Care Services, Opticianry, Radiotherapy, Medical Imaging Techniques and Elder Care.
13 New Programmes in 2016
This Academic Year 2016-2017, EUL will commence with 13 new programmes consisting of 5 Undergraduate Degree and 8 Associate’s Degree programmes. According to Faculties and Schools, these programmes are as follows:
