Yükselen gave information to academicians

 European University of Lefke 2015-2016 Academic Year “Academic Annual Meeting” was held on September. 30th, 10:00 am at Rauf Raif Denktaş Education Complex Conference Hall.  The Rector of EUL, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Yükselen, made the opening speech of Annual Meeting.

28 new departments were opened with the approval of YÖK (High Education Board)

In his Annual Meeting speech, Yükselen addressed issues as the overall evaluation of 2014-2015 Academic Year and his expectations from the new academic year.  Yükselen emphasized that EUL, which is a Foundation University in real terms, finalized its 25th year in education successfully by adding that the previous academic year was withstanding and satisfying.  Yükselen said that 28 new departments were opened with the approval of YÖK (High Education Board) in an academic year, which will break new ground in TRNC.  He depicted that 11 associate degrees, 6 undergraduates, 6 post graduates and 5 doctorate programmes are the departments within these 28 departments.  Yükselen announced that the number of academic personnel in 2013 increased from 135 to 243 with 2015-2016.

99.9 % Increase in the number of the students within two years 

Yükselen remarked that as university went from strength to strength today in total with the 40 % increase in the first year and 30 % increase in the second year while starting academic year with 3854 students in 2013 by indicating that increase in the number of the students within two years is beyond the universities in TRNC.   Yükselen, 99.9 % increase was actualized as a result of the number of the students who prefer EUL from LYS (Undergraduate Placement Exam) was 870 in 2013 whereas it increased 1739 this year.

Physical infrastructure work and accreditation were complemented at EUL

Yükselen, who gave information about Health and Sciences Faculty building, which was completed in campus, 9 laboratories which are affiliated to health sciences, Civil Engineering Department Non-destructive Test Systems Laboratory, Campus Dormitories, ÖÇEM (Autistic Children’s Education, Practice and Research Centre), depicted that  EUL  English Preparatory School was accredited by Pearson Assured (Edexcel).

“Students’ success filled us with pride”

Yükselen said: “Both School of Tourism & Hotel Management’s students’ successes in different areas and students are being competent enough in some sport fields to represent EUL and TRNC all around the world filled us with pride”.

Once for all, Yükselen, who referred to the new projects, wished success for the new academic year by acknowledging academicians due to their devotedly work that they showed.
