EUL’s Academicians gave presentations in the “International Human Sciences Congress”
EUL was represented with two Presentations
Chairperson of European University of Lefke (EUL) Faculty of Communication Sciences Department of New Media and Journalism Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elif Asude Tunca and Chairperson of Department of Public Relations and Advertising Assist. Prof. Dr. Esra Aydın Kılıç gave two presentations in the “International Human Sciences Congress” held at Ankara.
Tunca: Strategic management of public relations needs to be addressed in the context of strategic planning and tactical programming and implementation
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elif Asude Tunca who presented the notice titled “On Strategic Management and Strategic Management of Public Relations” and who was also the moderator of the session stressed the need to address management in strategic planning and tactical programming and implementation. Tunca stated that increasing competition with the drive to gain more profits, which is the main trigger of the capitalist order, is now directing enterprises not only within the framework of general management understanding, but also strategic thinking and strategic behavior in terms of public relations, which are important management functions and communication methods. She further stated that the intense competition creates concerns on enterprises about how to be different from their competitors in terms of their products / services.
Tunca: Businesses need to clearly demonstrate their competitive environment
Tuncay stated that today, businesses need to develop strategic public relations that communicate and overlap with the overall vision and mission of the enterprise when communicating with corporate audiences and sending messages to target audiences. She also said that “Businesses must clearly identify the competitive environment in which they are involved, conduct competitor analysis, get to know their stakeholders well, analyze the target audience and determine the content of the message they will send to each target audience and conduct a message analysis. They also have to develop an action plan that will lead them strategically in accordance with the results of these analyzes. Businesses should develop goals and objective-oriented plans, and evaluate the results and effectiveness of this plan as a whole as well as in itself”.
Kılıç: Political parties benefit from political advertising to ensure a change in attitude and behavior on their target audience.
Kılıç who made a presentation on “Political Advertisements in Digital Media: Presidential Elections” said that political parties benefit from political advertising to ensure a change in attitude and behavior on their target audience. Kılıç also said that “As in commercial advertisements, political advertisements differ according to the characteristics of the target audience and the purpose of advertising, as well as in the selection of the media where the advertisement will be made according to the characteristics of the target audience”.
Kılıç: In this new election campaign, we encounter different ad formats than traditional ads
Kılıç said that when the Presidential Elections are evaluated, it is seen that new paths are being followed in order to reach the electors and added that it is possible to see a new structure of users along with the new communication technologies and new ad styles. Kılıç also said that “In this sense, with the interaction offered by the digital platforms, we encounter different ad formats than traditional ads in this new election campaign”.
