10th EUL Psychology Days Held

The Psychology Department of the European University of Lefke (EUL) held its traditional “Psychology Days” event, marking its 10th edition this year.
The event began with an opening speech by Prof. Dr. Zihniye Okray, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and continued with two days of engaging debate sessions. In the first session, moderated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Umut Şah, psychology students debated in two groups on the topics “Gender Similarities Hypothesis” and “Gender Differences Hypothesis.”
The second session was moderated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Doğa Eroğlu Şah, where students debated “Emerging Adulthood is Necessary” vs “Emerging Adulthood is an Excuse.”
On the second day, debates continued under the moderation of Psychology Department Head, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sultan Okumuşoğlu. In relation to the World Health Organization’s claim that youth lasts from ages 18 to 65, students debated the propositions: “Ages 18–65 Are Youth” vs “Ages 18–65 Are Not Youth.”
The Psychology Days concluded with the department’s traditional charity fair, one of its ongoing social responsibility projects, organized under the guidance of Psychology Club Advisor Dr. Beliz Köroğlu. The fair was held outdoors on campus and featured contributions from both students and faculty. The event wrapped up with live music performances by students, creating a vibrant and joyful atmosphere.
