I. International History Congress

“Turkish History of Ottoman and Republic Period”Lefke/ The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, April 6-9, 2011  First Circular  

The History Department of Faculty of Arts and Sciences, European University of Lefke will be pleased of taking into hand a historical period which is vital important and of meeting scientists and participants within the mentioned History Congress in Lefke/ TRNC.

The Organizing Committee  calls for your presentation of current researches on “Turkish History of Ottoman and Republic Period” related to the themes of administrative, social, economic, military, political aspects, as well as medicine, science, architecture, education, trade, historiography, literature and international relations.

Individual papers will be organized into thematic sections and quality monitored by the Organizing Committee. Abstracts should not exceed 300 words. The desirable duration of a paper presentation is 15 minutes; it must not exceed 15  minutes. In case it becomes necessary to limit the number of papers, the selection will be made by members of the Organizing Committee.

The participants are requested to send the enclosed registration form by 1st December , 2010. The deadline for paper titles and abstracts is by 1st December, 2010.

The papers might be presented either in Turkish or in English.

Participants are requested to finance the registration fee for the Congress. The participation fee of the Congress is 350 Euros before 1st of January 2011, later payment will be 450 Euros. The fee for other participants (wives and relatives, etc) is 250 Euros before 1st of January 2011, later payments will be 300 Euros.  
The services which will include are:  
·     4 night accomodation at the Hostel House of the University
·     Arrival and return flight expenses
·     Daily breakfast, lunch and dinner fees, tea and coffee offers

The date of  "1st. International LAÜ History Congress " which we have been organizing with your estimable attributions has been changed due to the studies of some lecturers who took place in the Science Comittee of the congress.The  congress of ours will be held on 6- 9 April 2011.
