Mission
Department of Health and Sports Activities and modern sports complex established within the body of European University of Lefke aim at providing students, academicians and administrative personnel with the opportunity to have a healthier and active life style, enriching the campus life, and making everyone has the abilities that can be used lifelong with the help of regular sport activities and physical fitness programs.
Students can join various sport activities held at the University. Both the performance sportsmen and the ones who want to improve themselves in a certain type of sport can benefit from the facility with the assistance of the experts from the Department of Health and Sport Activities. The Department of Health and Sport Activities is situated in the Dr. Fazıl Küçük Sport Complex.
Our activities are broadened thanks to the foundation of the EUL Sports Club in 1991 and the sports competitions held both by TRNC and Turkish Sport Federations.
After the opening of Dr. Fazıl Küçük Sport Complex in 2007, it became possible to have access to different types of sport activities and it provided the opportunity to be more engaged in those activities for our students and personnel. Football, Streetball, Chess, Volleyball, Darts and Table Tennis are the main types of sports held at the university for the students.
The University also provides Sportsman Scholarship for the students who are successful in sport activities.
GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT DR. FAZIL KÜÇÜK SPORTS COMPLEX The complex includes:
Main Hall (of high standard and well-equipped enabling to hold any indoor sports activities)

Free Weight Centre (GYM)

Studio 1 (Step, Aerobic, Dance)
Studio 2 (Tae kwon do-Judo, Wrestling, Dance, Table Tennis)

The Gym is double-storied and has a total area of 4800 m2. The Gym is composed of sports equipment salesroom, changing room, shower rooms, administrative and trainer's office, VIP Lounge, Press Office, Health Unit and the rooms used to hold other sport activities.

Main Hall (1092 m2):
The Main Hall which is designed in a way that any kind of indoor sports can be practiced is suitable especially for well known sport types like volleyball, basketball, badminton, handball and futsal.
Fitness Center (183.20 m²):
The Fitness Center is composed of the sections which have treadmills, bicycles, elliptic machines and the other equipments to work all kinds of muscle types for the use of all students.


Free Weight Center (120 m²):
All the weights in our centre are certified by International Weightlifting Federation (IWF). The size and the quality of the centre are also appropriate for more professional body builders.
Squash Hall (62.40 m²):
The Hall is open for everyone who wants to play squash.

Step Aerobic Hall (144.64 m²): Step – Aerobic Hall designed for the needs of all students has a capacity which enables 25 people to use the allocated area at the same time.
Studio 1 (144.64 m²): It is designed for step, aerobic, wrestling and martial arts.
Studio 2 (69.76 m²): This studio is appropriate for all kinds of dances and table tennis.

Except for the Gym, there are 2 miniature synthetic football fields, 3 tennis courts and open basketball fields.
Students who would like to register for the sports branches they are interested in can apply to the Department of Health and Sport Activities for registration.
The students who would like to involve in the existing sport activities or/and the new sport types can take part in the elections after applying the Sports Coordination Unit on the dates separately announced for each sport type.
Active Sport Teams at EUL:
Darts, Badminton(male-female),Chess, Table Tennis (male-female), Athletics (male-female), Wrestling, Futsal (male-female), Snooker, Basketball, Football (male-female), Volleyball (male-female), Cricket, Tennis (male-female), Folk-Dance.
Traditionally, Sport Competitions held within the Spring Festivals, are held with the cooperation of students and Sport Coordination Unit every year. This year (2007-2008), those activities held at EUL are Football, Basketball, Chess, Volleyball, Darts and Table Tennis.
The EUL Cricket Team was founded in 2001 with the incentive of Sports Coordination Unit and the Team attends the Championship Tournaments, which are held by TRNC University Sports Federation every year. Even though the team did very well in 2004-2005 tournaments, they got the second rank. In 2005-2006 Academic Year, they won the Championship by defeating all the other teams.
