A Meaningful Visit to “Kalkanlı Life House” by EUL School of Health Services

Students and academic staff from the School of Health Services at the European University of Lefke (EUL) carried out a meaningful visit as part of a social responsibility project. During the visit, students came together with elderly residents of the Kalkanlı Yaşam Evi (Kalkanlı Life House).
The purpose of the visit was to engage with elderly individuals, contribute to their quality of life, and allow students to enhance their professional skills through field experience. Students spent one-on-one time with the residents, engaged in various activities, and provided information on health-related topics.
Faculty members Fahriye Çoban and Gölgem Mehmetoğlu also actively participated in the visit. Conversations centered around healthy aging, care services, and social interaction proved to be highly beneficial for both the students and the residents of Kalkanlı Life House.
Director of the School of Health Services, Besim Özyel, stated: “Visits like these are of great importance for both the professional development of our students and the cultivation of a sense of social responsibility. We believe that the bonds formed with the elders at Kalkanlı Life House further strengthen our students’ humanistic values.”
