Haydar Aliyev Conference Held at EUL

A conference titled “National Leader Haydar Aliyev: Leadership and Vision from Past to Future” was held at the European University of Lefke (EUL), jointly organized by the Azerbaijan-Cyprus Friendship Society and the Haydar Aliyev International Cultural Center.
The event took place in the EUL Faculty of Law Conference Hall. It began with a moment of silence, followed by the national anthems of Turkey and Azerbaijan. After screening a documentary on Haydar Aliyev, the conference proceeded with speeches.
The first speaker, EUL Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Yükselen, emphasized that Haydar Aliyev was a leader who left a deep mark not only on the Azerbaijani people but also in the history of the Turkic world. He stated that Aliyev dedicated every stage of his life to his nation and became an example to the world with his political genius, vision, and determination.
Orhan Hasanoğlu, President of the Azerbaijan-Cyprus Friendship Society, underlined that Haydar Aliyev was the architect of modern Azerbaijan, noting that his vision formed the foundation for developing relations with the TRNC.
Azerbaijani Member of Parliament Razi Nurullayev remarked that Azerbaijan is working to strengthen Turkic unity, expressing that Azerbaijan supports the further development of the TRNC and will continue to do everything possible for the unity and solidarity of Turkic states.
Azerbaijani MP Prof. Dr. Vugar Rahimzade stressed that Azerbaijan has reached its current status thanks to Haydar Aliyev, describing him as a statesman who strongly supported the empowerment of the Turkic world and emphasizing the significance of the Organization of Turkic States.
Minister of Public Works and Transport Erhan Arıklı shared that he had closely followed Azerbaijan’s journey to independence, describing the country as the rising star of the Turkic world. Arıklı stated that Haydar Aliyev laid the foundation for modern Azerbaijan through strategic moves, and with the implementation of the Silk Road Project, the strategic dominance of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Turkey would reach an indisputable position.
In his closing remarks, President Ersin Tatar highlighted that such events strengthen the deep-rooted ties between Azerbaijan and the TRNC and allow the youth to hear about the past firsthand. He thanked everyone who contributed to the organization of the conference.
President Tatar also noted that relations between Azerbaijan and the TRNC are growing stronger, emphasizing that the bold steps taken recently by President Ilham Aliyev mark a historic turning point.
Tatar concluded by stating that the leadership qualities, courage, vision, and experience of the great leader Haydar Aliyev are of immense importance to the Turkic world, and expressed his gratitude and respect in memory of him.
The conference concluded with plaque presentations and a group photo session.
