A Symposium on “The Importance of Cell Culture and Bioprinting in Research” held at EUL

The Faculty of Medicine at the European University of Lefke (EUL) organized a symposium titled “The Importance of Cell Culture and Bioprinting in Research.”
“The symposium emphasized the importance of scientific research in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.”
During the symposium, the significance of scientific research in diagnosing and treating diseases was highlighted. The event began with a presentation by Prof. Dr. Rasime Kalkan, a faculty member at EUL’s Faculty of Medicine, who emphasized how two-dimensional cell culture, one of the main techniques in scientific studies, is used in the diagnosis of genetic diseases and scientific research, and explained the critical points that must be considered.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Ayşe Ertay, also from the Faculty of Medicine, focused on different models of three-dimensional cell culture and their similarity to human physiology, underlining how this technique is utilized in cancer treatment research.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emil Mammadov, a specialist in pediatric surgery, provided participants with detailed information about the process of three-dimensional bioprinting through video demonstration. In addition, Dr. Mammadov discussed the potential areas where three-dimensional bioprinting could be used in clinical studies impacting human health.
The symposium, attended by medical students, concluded with a Q&A session.
