Collaboration between EUL and EMU

A protocol was signed between the European University of Lefke and Eastern Mediterranean University
A protocol was signed between the European University of Lefke and Eastern Mediterranean University to strengthen academic cooperation. The signing ceremony, held at the European University of Lefke, was attended by EUL Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Yükselen and EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç. Also present were EUL Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Carolina Smochina, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Ademgil, and Prof. Dr. Ebru Oğurlu, along with EMU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Osman M. Karatepe and Rector’s Office Manager Kazım Hakverdi.
The protocol signed by the rectors of the two universities covers the development of academic staff and student exchange programs, the implementation of joint projects in education and training, the enhancement of cooperation in scientific research and academic publishing, and the mutual sharing of data and information for educational and research purposes. The agreement aims to strengthen the academic capacity of both institutions and contribute to higher education by encouraging collaborative scientific output.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, European University of Lefke Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Yükselen emphasized that universities should not be limited to education and teaching activities alone, highlighting that collaborations developed with sectoral and academic stakeholders are of great importance in terms of scientific production and societal contribution. Yükselen stated that the signed protocol would bring significant benefits to both institutions, noting that the agreement would enable joint academic studies, cooperation in education, and collaborative activities in scientific research, project development, and academic publishing. He concluded his remarks by thanking everyone involved and expressing his hope that the protocol would be beneficial for both universities.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Eastern Mediterranean University Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç stated that the cooperation between the two universities would make significant contributions to the higher education system of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Kılıç expressed that the long-established academic strengths of the European University of Lefke and Eastern Mediterranean University would be further reinforced through this protocol, emphasizing that the agreement aims to advance existing collaboration and encourage joint academic production. He noted the importance of the protocol for the development of academic partnerships and concluded by thanking Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Yükselen for his hospitality, wishing that the protocol would be beneficial for both institutions.
