Dean of European University of Lefke (EUL) Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. Rümeysa Demirdamar has been chosen for the Acreditation Council for Pharmacy Education’s (ACPE) International Services Program Advisory Group.

Demirdamar has been qualified to the membership of International Services Program Advisory Group – ISPAG

Demirdamar has been qualified to the membership of International Services Program Advisory Group – ISPAG due to her contributions to the many international projects such as renovation and development project of the Nicolae Testemitanu Faculty of Pharmacy in Chisinau – Moldova training program for Pharmacy Education in 2004-2006 in Bologna process direction.

Demirdamar pointed out that ACPE is an establishment that gives accreditation to the faculties of pharmacy offering education in USA since 1932. Demirdamar stated that, the establishment ensures the preparation of pharmacists for the patient care and determines the education standards and added that apart from aiming to increase the quality of education with applying the standards, the establishment also provides quality assurance in professional training based on evidence and experience.

Demirdamar said that “ACPE is accepted as the national agency for accreditation of professional undergraduate programs in pharmacy by USA Ministry of Education. ACPE also serves as a national agency for the accreditation of continuing education providers”.

Demirdamar also stated that ACPE accredits pharmacy technician education and training programs in cooperation with the American Association of Health System Pharmacists, and also offers assessment and certification of professional-level programs at international level.

Demirdamar said that “Pharmacists who graduate from the pharmacy faculties of the United States of America are obliged to pass the exam of NAPLEX (National Association of Boards of Pharmacy) in order to practice their profession and get their license”.

Demiardamar finally said that, starting from 2011 ACPE started giving “international certificate” to the faculties aside from America, and graduates of faculties which has accreditation from ACPE can enter the NAPLEX exam.
