EUL Academician Demirdamar made statements about “Pharmacy Day”

Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, European University of Lefke Prof. Dr. S. Rümeysa Demirdamar made statements about “Pharmacy Day”.
Demirdamar expressed that “As our country and the world passes through a very difficult time, we are preparing to celebrate Pharmacy Day on May 14 in this period, since 1968 May 14, ‘Pharmacy Day’ is celebrated in Turkey and TRNC.”
Demirdamar: Pharmacists have been sharing the ways to overcome the problems in order to reach the best and the better in providing health care to the patients on May 14 for 50 years.
Demirdamar, who said “Pharmacists providing primary health care services, express and discuss the agenda, future and problems of the Pharmacy profession every year on May 14 in meetings they organize as Turkish Pharmacists Association, Cyprus Turkish Pharmacists Association, Pharmacy chambers, Faculties of Pharmacy”, Pharmacists with quality assurance in medicine treatment share ways to overcome the problems in order to reach the better and better in providing health care to the patients on May 14th for the last 50 years.
Demirdamar :14thMay is accepted as the beginning day of scientific pharmacy
Demirdamar stated that, the first pharmacy class in the Ottoman state in Mekteb-i Tıbbiye-i Adliye-i Şahane, started its education on May 14, 1839, and therefore the Pharmacy Day Commission, established in 1949, accepted May 14 as the beginning of scientific pharmacy, and on May 14, 1968 it was firstly celebrated.
Demirdamar said, “We have been celebrating the Pharmacy Day in the Pharmacy Faculty of the European University of Lefke since May 14, 2017, with our students and faculty members”, and that they have been doing the ‘Wearing White Apron’ ceremonies every year within the program on 14th May. It was also stated that many events are held by stating the play ‘At the Pharmacy’ by writing and saying the words of ‘Pharmacy March.’
