Post-Graduation Dentistry Symposium Held at EUL

The Faculty of Dentistry and the Dentistry Club at the European University of Lefke (EUL) jointly organized the “Post-Graduation Dentistry Symposium.”
In the first session of the symposium, President of the Ankara Chamber of Dentists, Dt. Serkan Er, addressed the topic “What is a Professional Association? Why is it Important for the Rights of Colleagues?” He explained the vital role professional organizations play in protecting the rights and welfare of dentists.
Following this, Prof. Dr. Sevi Burçak Çehreli, Faculty Member in the Department of Pedodontics at EUL and Chair of the Scientific Committee of the Ankara Chamber of Dentists, delivered a presentation on “Evidence-Based Dentistry.” She emphasized key points that dental graduates should consider during their ongoing learning journey after graduation.
The second part of the symposium focused on two of the most pressing concerns in the profession: ethics and malpractice. Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahu Eser Eset, Faculty Member in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at EUL and Vice President of the Ankara Chamber of Dentists, presented under the title “Professional Ethics in Dental Practice.”
Dr. İdris Deniz, Forensic Medicine Specialist at Lefkoşa Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital, addressed the topic “Malpractice or Complication?”, offering a detailed discussion on the distinction between unavoidable complications and actual malpractice in dental practice.
The symposium concluded with a Q&A panel session involving all speakers, which was met with strong interest from participants. The discussion shed light on important issues to be considered during the post-graduation phase of a dental professional’s career.
