European University of Lefke (EUL) Faculty of Architecture and Design organized a design week event themed “Traditional Design Week MELIORA”.
Students produced thematic street furniture in the Modular Street Furniture Design workshop
The design events organized during the 2022-2023 Spring Semester Traditional Design Week were held with the theme “MELIORA” Feel nature again and make things better. The events, organized in three different groups were open to students from all faculties. This year, the design week workshop groups focused on feeling nature again for better days to come.
In the first group Modular Street Furniture Design workshop, students produced thematic street furniture in the front garden of the Faculty of Architecture and Design in order to strengthen the perception of functionality and individual experience in public space. The focus was on enriching the public use of the designed and produced modular street furniture by providing functionality to the space it defines.
The Project which was carried out by a group of 30 Architecture and Interior Architecture and Environmental Design students, was led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Cemaliye S. Gürçınar, Asst. Prof. Dr. Selen A. Ermiyagil, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ersan Öksüz, Asst. Prof. Dr. Feriha Urfalı and Asst. Prof. Dr. Erçim Uluğ.
