Faculty of Health Sciences

The main goal of the Faculty of Health Sciences established in 2009 is to become a leading faculty that has a say in the creation of health policies, that trains competent health professionals or educators respectful of universal and cultural values who have a strong command of contemporary approaches and methods, that services the public and develops new technologies and which has a distinguished international reputation.

The programs offered by the respective departments operating under the Faculty of Health Sciences is designed according to conditions and criteria set by international accreditation institutions. All departments offer foundation courses on health as well as classes in their specialized fields. Theoretical based lectures are supported by practice at training sessions in clinics. StudentsÔÇÖ capabilities and knowledge is tested both through written exams as well as applied tests. In addition to the 5 undergraduate programs offered by the faculty, a graduate degree program has recently been opened in the field of Health Management.

Dean's message

Dear students,

There are departments as Nutrition and Dietetics, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, Social Work, and Health Management (English) of our Faculty, which has begun to its 2011-2012 academic life with the purpose of training qualified manpower, which is the need of modern health service. Applications are performed in our high level equipped laboratories in our Faculty in which theoretical courses are conducted by qualified academics. Students can enrich their entrepreneurship and socio-cultural aspects with ÔÇťelective courses of UniversityÔÇŁ while also developing professional knowledge and skills. Our students, who are pioneers and helpful to keep the relationships between inter-university individuals and units always in mutual respect; are regarded and grown as community leaders, who are indicating a high level of self-responsibility for ensuring the effective, attentive and efficient use and the protection of corporate resources. Our Faculty, which is ambitious in training graduated health professionals, who are hight demands on the health service, will expand the teaching field with the strong infrastructure, the support of top management and the new section will be opened soon.

Our faculty aims:
- First of all, educating health professionals who can think big, start small, and who are always in interaction.
- To accommodate our graduates with qualifications that will and size add quality to health service.
- To contribute to the students to be prpfessionals when they begin to work, who adopt to act equal, fair and honest as a basic principle, respect to the human rights and freedoms and also do not give rise to discrimination and prejudice due to religion, language, race, ethnicity, thoughts, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability and similar other characteristics.
- To be able to educate our graduates, who aim to be leaders in their fields, in a way that they can establish balance with determination between the principle of transparency and the principle of the protection of information that should be kept secret during the execution of health services.
- Within the framework of lifelong learning concept, to help them adapt to the constantly updated information, knowledge and skills of health sciences and services fields and improve their ability to move professional knowledge and skills towards the highest level of quality.
Choosing the departments of our University in order to be a part of competent health care professionals is a correct decision and an honour for our faculty.
