A cooperation protocol was signed between EUL and the Presidency of Civil Defence Organization
A solidarity and cooperation protocol was signed between the European University of Lefke (EUL) and the Presidency of the Civil Defence Organization. EUL Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Yükselen, Civil Defence Organization President Necmi Karakoç, EUL General Secretary Hüseyin Eser and Civil Defence Organization Directorate Güzelyurt Regional Manager Levent Arıkoğlu attended to the Protocol Signature Ceremony which was held in the Rectorate Senate Hall.
EUL Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Yükselen and Civil Defence Organization President Necmi Karakoç signed the protocol. The Protocol includes new cooperation and strengthening and continuing the existing cooperation between the Presidency of the Civil Defence Organization and the European University of Lefke.
Two institutions will cooperate within the framework of the protocol
In order to minimize the loss of life and property of the people against natural disasters and major fires throughout the country or in partial regions and support activities of protection of vital official and private facilities and organizations with maximum speed, within the framework of mutual benefit principle, the two institutions will cooperate within the scope of the cooperation protocol signed within the framework of the stated principles regarding the common use and sharing of resources.
First aid, earthquake, flood, fire and traffic accident conferences will be given to EUL-ACUTE members
The Civil Defence Organization (CDO) will be able to organize educational conferences, seminars and / or drills on first aid, earthquake, flood, fire and traffic accident for the members of the search and rescue club (EUL-ACUTE) established within the framework of the protocol. In case the EUL-AKUT team is assigned by the CDO within the scope of Civil Defence exercises or search-rescue missions after natural disasters, these duties will be performed under the control of the CDO.
EUL, on the other hand, will encourage seminar studies and exchange of scientific documents on natural disasters, earthquake and crisis management between the scientists working in the teaching staff and the CDO. In addition, EUL will provide the necessary technical and training support in order to ensure the development of the Civil Defence Organization and its personnel and the development of their services.
