TRNC Ministry of Health Revised COVID-19 Restrictions/Measures 12.05.2021
The following revised Covid-19 measures have been announced by the Health Ministry in accordance with recommendations made by the Higher Committee for Infectious Diseases. The decisions will be valid as of Monday, May 17, 2021.
The night-time curfew will continue to remain in place from Monday 17.05.2021 to Saturday 22.05.2021 between 10 pm and 5 am.
A full-day curfew, except to meet essential needs will be in place on Sunday 23.05.2021. Only pharmacies, petrol stations, bakeries (production only) as well as restaurants, patisseries, cafes and taverns offering delivery services will be allowed to operate on the day.
As of 17.05.2021, (Mon-Sat) all retail stores and sectors which are open will be allowed to operate between 8:30 am and 9 pm.
As of 17.05.2021, (Mon-Sat) opening hours of all supermarkets will be from 7 am and 9 pm.
As of 17.05.2021 (Mon-Sat) all restaurants, cafes, patisseries and taverns will be allowed to open between 10 am to 9:30 pm.
Live music will be allowed in outdoor areas of restaurants, cafes, patisseries and taverns as of 17.05.2021. Musicians performing will be required to undergo PCR testing every seven days. In addition, establishments will be required to sign declarations of consent. Any establishment which violates the rules will be shut down.
As of 27.05.2021, a night-time curfew will be in force for all days of the week between 11 pm and 5 am. The full-day curfew on Sundays will be lifted.
Protests, demonstrations or ceremonies will be allowed to be carried out indoors with a maximum of 150 persons.
Beaches are open to the public under conditions set by the health ministry.
Children below 18 and adults above 60 are included in the list of persons eligible for home quarantine to be monitored by electronic bracelets.
Persons who have come into contact with individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 will be required to quarantine in state-monitored facilities for 10 days.
