EUL academician, Karakartal’s gift book was introduced with the event
Dean of the European University of Lefke (EUL) Faculty of Education and Turkish Language and Literature expert Prof. Dr. Oğuz Karakartal has completed thirty-three years in his professional life and on this occasion the surprise gift book prepared by academicians, students, teachers and colleagues was promoted at an event organized at Nicosia Yunus Emre Institute.
“In the gift book, there is information about Karakartal’s academic studies and works related to Turkish Cypriot culture.”
In the book “Oguz Karakartal Gift”, supported by the writings of 50 academicians from Turkey, TRNC and Italy, there is information about Karakartal’s academic studies and works related to Turkish Cypriot culture, as well as academic articles on different subjects.

TRNC President Ersin Tatar, T.C. Nicosia Ambassador Ali Murat Başçeri, EUL Rector Prof.Dr. Mehmet Ali Yükselen, politicians, cultural people and academicians attended. President Ersin Tatar emphasized the importance of Turkish Cypriot culture and Turkish on the island in his speech and congratulated Karakartal for his work on this path. President Tatar stated that a truth was expressed in the phrase “A heart stretching from the cool waters of the Bosphorus to Cyprus” written on the cover of the gift book, and that this is the unity of Turkey and the TRNC.
Ambassador Başçeri said that one cannot be universal without being national and local, without knowing them, and that Karakartal’s projects always excited him and that the five-volume History of Turkish Cypriot Literature, which he prepared with İsmail Bozkurt, came to life two years ago. He stated that they made an accurate decision by supporting them as the Nicosia Embassy.
