Great Leader Atatürk commemorated with a Ceremony
European University of Lefke (EUL) organized a commemorative ceremony on the occasion of Founder of Turkish Republic Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s 80th death anniversary.
The ceremony which took place in front of the EUL Campus’s Atatürk statue started with the presentation of a wreath to the Atatürk statue by the Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Yükselen, and proceeded with a moment of silence and Turkish National Anthem. Rector, Vice Rectors, academic and administrative staff of EUL and many students attended the ceremony.
Tayhani: It is important to understand and give a voice to him in every platform
In his speech, Academician of Arts & Sciences Department Assoc. Prof. İhsan Tayhani said that, “We are in the 80th anniversary of great leader Atatürk’s death. Of course, we are in intense sorrow together with the Turkish World. We always commemorate him respect. It is important to understand and give a voice to him in every platform”.
Tayhani: Atatürk received the title of “the Greatest Leader of the 20th century” as a result of a research.
Tayhani stated that, in a research conducted by Prof. Arnold Ludwig where the success and importance of many political leaders were evaluated according to 11scales, Founder of Turkish Republic Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was specified as “the Greatest Leader of the 20th Century”.
Tayhani listed these scales as “establishing a country from the scratch, expanding territories, time in power, military success, social design power, economic success, statesmanship, ideology, ethics, political heritage and country population” and added that in his book Prof. Ludwig compared hundreds of important leaders according to this system and that Atatürk was in the first place with 31 points.
Tayhani: We all commemorate Atatürk with respect, gratitude, and passion
Tayhani stated that “Atatürk is widely known at a global scale in terms of ideology” and said that, we all commemorate Atatürk who has dedicated his 57 years of life to a single case and who passed away with leaving a great heritage, with respect, gratitude, and passion.
