Meaningful Projects from the Students of EUL
Awareness was raised on recycling
Students of the European University of Lefke Dr. Fazıl Küçük Faculty of Education continues to conduct many successful social responsibility projects under the framework of the Community Services Practices course.
Giving information on the projects conducted together with the Lefke Environment and Promotion Association, Chairperson of the Pre-School Teaching Department Assist. Prof. Dr. Çağda Kıvanç Çağanağa said that in the first project, they set off with the slogan “Don’t Throw Our Future in the Trash, Win Us Back” and added that they designed and placed garbage cans in different colors from waste materials in public spaces. Çağanağa further stated that they placed trash cans prepared from materials mostly used in infrastructure works in various parts of the region and attached importance to recycling during the project development process.
Social responsibility projects are being carried out aimed at all segments of society with different themes and purposes
Pointing out that with the project which was supported by Lefke Environment and Promotion Association, they tried to raise awareness and underlined that with each social responsibility project they try to address all segments of society with different themes and purposes. Çağanağa further said that their projects are not single aimed and added that while their first aim is to create awareness in terms of recycling, their second aim is to find a solution to the pollution problem which threatens our world.
Çağanağa also said that street games contributed to child development with the second project which was carried out together with the abovementioned association and stated that they set out with the principle of lifelong learning and that they made paint works on the walls of Lefke Environment and Promotion Association and between the streets. Çağanağa continued that they could contribute to the entertainment and development of children as well as keeping them away from technology with creative ideas in the fight against technology addiction which is thought to be one of the biggest problems of our time. Çağanağa also stated that the students carry out projects with the Lefke Environment and Promotion Association and social responsibility projects aimed at all segments of the society with different themes and aims and thanked the students and everyone who contributed to their work.
