More Awareness Projects from EUL Students
Social Services Student’s Club affiliated to the European University of Lefke (EUL) Office of Students’ Dean organized two events titled “You are a Disabled Candidate, Don’t turn a blind eye” and “Let’s read and contribute to the Society” under the framework of their Social Services with the Society Lecture and with the leadership of their instructor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özge Özgür Bayır.
You are a Disabled Candidate, Don’t turn a blind eye
Bayır stated that with the project themed “You are a Disabled Candidate, Don’t turn a blind eye”, 4th grade students of Social Services Department carried out a crown cup collection project in order to enable the individuals who are orthopedically disabled to act alone, to travel freely, to shop and to explore the world they live in, and to support these individuals. Bayır also stated the aim of the projects as facilitating the lives of a disabled person with the cups collected with the support of the students at the school as well as the citizens and added that the cups of water bottles, olive oil bottles and juice bottles were collected under the framework of the project. Pointing out that 5 decorated boxes were placed in specific areas, Bayır said that at the end of the projects collected caps were given to the Cyprus Turkish Orthopedics Association.
Let’s read and contribute to the Society
Bayır pointed out that with the project themed “Let’s read and contribute to the Society” students conducted different activities with the children and youth of the T.R.N.C Children and Youth Center and stated the aim of the project as developing the imagination of the students included in the project by means of reading. Susan also stated that the aim is to contribute to the development of hand coordination skills of children in the painting activity.
