“Don’t throw it on the ground, shoot a Basket”

Students of European University of Lefke (EUL) Department of Psychological Consulting and Guidance organized a project titled “Don’t throw it on the ground, shoot a Basket” with the students of İskele Cumhuriyet High school in order to draw attention to the environmental awareness under the frame work of their Social Services Lecture.

Project officer Academician of EUL Dr. Fazıl Küçük Faculty of Education Department of English Language Teaching Assist. Prof. Dr. Fatma Özüorçun and EUL Students came together with the students of Cumhuriyet High School and conducted joint events that aimed to make them throw the litter to the waste bins in a fun way.

Özüorçun: Projects related to the community and the environment we live in provide sensitivity to the students who are teacher candidates

Giving information on the project, Özüorçun said that the project lasted for about 8 weeks from construction to installation. She further stated that the students shared the phases of the group members with their friends in the short presentations in the classroom, and that the results of the project carried out with a team work motivated the students. Özüorçun also said that such projects related to the community and the environment we live in provide sensitivity to the students who are teacher candidates and added that similar projects will continue in different frameworks and issues during the academic year.
