European University of Lefke (EUL) 2023-2024 Academic Year Fall Semester graduates received their diplomas at a ceremony held on 25 January 2024. EUL Board of Trustees Members Nihat Çakan, Hüseyin Şener, Gökhan Saraç, Timuçin Pirgalıoğlu, EUL Rector, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Yükselen and guests attended the ceremony held at the Faculty of Law Conference Hall. The ceremony began with the graduates taking their seats, a moment of silence, the National Anthem and opening speeches.

Yükselen: I firmly believe that our graduates will make us proud with their achievements

In his speech at the ceremony, Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Yükselen expressed: “I am very happy to be with you on this meaningful day when we come together to send off our 2023-2024 Academic Year Fall Semester graduates to their post-university life. Today, our students graduating from one of the most established universities in the TRNC will strive to take their knowledge and skills one step further than the age they are in, and with the qualified education they have received, they will take leading roles in the development of their own countries. I firmly believe that our graduates will not negate the efforts and sacrifices of their parents and will make us proud of their achievements. On this occasion, I congratulate you, our esteemed parents, and express my deepest gratitude for raising such young people.”

On behalf of the graduates, Audulhamid Suleiman Gudow, a student of the Faculty of Engineering, and Nur Altok, a student of Dr. Fazıl Küçük Faculty of Education, expressed their pride in being from EUL and thanked their academicians, their families, the EUL family, and the TRNC people for their hospitality.

Following the speeches, the ceremony programme continued with the presentation of diplomas and the cap toss, which the students had been eagerly waiting for throughout their educational lives. The ceremony ended with a cocktail in honour of the parents and graduating students.
