“26th Anniversary of Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan” celebrations were organized at European University of Lefke (EUL) by EUL Students’ Dean Office and International Student Club.

In the organization which took place at EUL Rauf Raif Denktaş Conference Hall, Kazakhstani students of EUL celebrated 26th Anniversary of Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan with several activities. The program started with the National Anthem of Kazakhstan and the Turkish National Anthem and continued with a video which was about the foundation history and introduction of Kazakhstan.

Within the scope of celebrations, visuals that displayed the culture of Kazakhstan, traditional dance shows, and parades were carried out and songs were sing. In the organization, traditional dishes of Kazakhstan were introduced to the participants.

Afterwards, 26th Anniversary cake was cut at the EUL Fun Club and traditional dance shows accompanied with traditional songs were performed.

Kazakhstani students expressed their thought and feelings about the Independence Day as follows;

Sultan Baitarov: I am a first-year student in the Department of Business Administration. We organized the event with cooperation and thanks to this activity we made new friends. I am grateful to EUL for giving us the opportunity to introduce our country.

Diama Nurzhamova: I am happy to celebrate our independence day, which is a soulful and exciting day for us, with our friends. The Kazakhstan Independence Day is celebrated not only in Kazakhstan, but in many parts of the world, because the Kazakhs are everywhere in the world. I would like to thank EUL for giving us this opportunity.

Adina Omirzak: I am delighted to introduce our culture and country on the day of Independence. I share this joy with my friends. It made me very happy to be with my friends on such a day and to celebrate this important day at our university.
