European University of Lefke (EUL) School of Tourism and Hotel Management Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts organized a meet-up themes “Abroad Internship Opportunities”. Esra Akyüz and Çağlan Duyan attended the meet-up as speakers.

Information on the internship opportunities in Spain, Portugal and Italy were offered to the students of Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts and Department of Tourism Management and Tourism Guiding. Internship opportunities, achievements, language proficiency and professional competence were discussed at the meeting along with the information on how to make use of these opportunities.

Students were informed about the life in these countries, the businesses they could work with and the general rules of these enterprises

During the event, which was held with the intense participation, the speakers answered the questions of the students who wanted to have information about internship opportunities abroad and who had the desire to do an internship abroad. The speakers informed the students about the life in these countries, the businesses they could work with and the general rules of these enterprises.

At the end of the event, Asst. Prof. Dr. İlker Türkeri, Head of Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts pointed out that in terms of professional competence, internship is vital in the Tourism Sector and added that with the internship the students gain experience before starting the profession and turn the theoretical knowledge they learn in the lessons into practice. Türkeri also thanked the students and the speakers who attended the meet-up.
