A Talk Titled “New Horizons in Destination Marketing through Social Media” was organized at EUL

The Faculty of Communication Sciences at the European University of Lefke (EUL) hosted two internationally successful figures in the fields of digital content production and destination marketing. Photographer Altuğ Galip and video producer Alp Galip shared their experiences with students in a talk on the rising role of social media in the tourism sector.
In their presentations, the Galip brothers explained the key stages of destination marketing, including identifying the target audience, selecting influencers, producing content, and creating long-term digital value. They supported their insights with concrete examples by sharing the successes of campaigns carried out in Uzbekistan and Sri Lanka, demonstrating how social media plays an effective role among travel enthusiasts.
Throughout the talk, students asked questions not only about the advantages of being an influencer but also the challenges and important considerations. The event also included a visually enriched presentation including videos and photos captured by the Galip brothers themselves.
At the end of the event, Dean of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Prof. Dr. Elif Asude Tunca, and Head of the Department of Visual Communication Design, Asst. Prof. Dr. Elif Atamaz, presented certificates of appreciation to Altuğ and Alp Galip for their participation.
The talk emphasized the significant role that impactful content production and effective social media strategies hold in tourism promotion in the digital age.
