Art Days held at EUL
Increasing Artistic Production and Sharing was aimed
European University of Lefke (EUL) Faculty of Architecture Department of Graphic Design organized a conference and a workshop under the frame work of Art Days. Assist. Prof. Dr. Mine Okur and Dr. Gökhan Okur attended the event which aimed to increase artistic production and sharing by bringing expert artists and designers with the students as speakers.
Cyprus themed video game was presented to the students
Assist. Prof. Dr. Mine Okur who handled the concept of “Graphic Design in Video Games” shared with the students the tasks of graphic design which is in the background of video games, and is an important market share today, developing and growing day by day with the advancement of technology. She informed the students about the role of the graphic designer in the design process of these games, which stages do they took part in and which other disciplines they interacted with, inspired by world-famous game examples and presented a Cyprus themed video game.
Letter forming techniques using different materials were presented to the students
Dr. Gökhan Okur interviewed the students on typography and gave detailed information about the historical development of typography, the importance of writing and how each letter has been carried to the present day. Okur who presented letter forming techniques using different materials shared imported information on how to form letters with a wide range of materials from bamboo to fine brushes, and the importance of artistic aesthetics in writing.
At the end of the event certificates were presented to the participants by the Vice Dean of Faculty of Architecture Assist. Prof. Dr. Vedat Çağanağa.
