European University of Lefke (EUL) Dr. Fazıl Küçük Faculty of Education, Head of Elementary Education Department Asst. Prof. Dr. Çağda Kıvanç Çağanağa gave information on the subject of “Efficient Study Methods in the Pandemic Process”.

Success is achieved by working disciplined and using time effectively

Çağanağa stated that the road to success passes through the students getting to know themselves first and she said that during the pandemic process, students should draw a road map by finding their own learning styles and learning strategies. Çağanağa emphasized that success can be achieved by working disciplined and using time effectively, Çağanağa said that with the pandemic process, it was realized that life should be lived minimally and slowly, and that the first adoption of Pareto would add efficiency in every aspect of person’s life.

Çağanağa said, “The Pareto principle can be used as a tool to enable us to be more efficient by analyzing, reducing or eliminating the factors that cost our time. In education, we can use the Pareto principle to achieve a more effective and efficient study. Pareto principle in the business world: in a certain firm, 20% of all customers constitute 80% of the total profit. We can give countless examples of this, the number of people you know versus the number of people you spend time with, or the number of apps you actually use versus the number of apps you have on your phone, etc. The fact that most things in life are unevenly distributed and not controlled, it is inevitable that we will be doing more and more time-consuming activities which will lead us to increasingly unproductive results. In other words, she summed up it as an effect known as the Law of Diminishing Yields”.

Çağanağa also stated that it would be beneficial to have small breaks, to use different study methods and to benefit from teaching technologies to increase motivation.
