Students prepare Creative Menus from the World Cuisines
European University of Lefke (EUL) School of Tourism and Hotel Management offers the students the opportunity to receive the best education with its expert and experienced academic staff, the fully-equipped application kitchen where students have the opportunity to apply one-to-one in the EUL Lounge where the different menus from the world cuisines are prepared,
Pointing out that Gastronomy and Culinary Arts and Tourism Management Departments are within the structure of the School of Tourism and Hotel Management, Assist. Prof. Dr. Mehmedali Egemen Director of the School of Tourism and Hotel Management said that the students graduates from Gastronomy and Culinary Arts as individuals who can prepare local and different world cuisines in order to compete at national and international level, manage different positions in food and beverage sector, and analyse the relationship of the kitchen with other disciplines in the best way. Egemen expressed that students who are trained with the best infrastructure opportunities with the experienced staff work in different parts of the world after graduation and added that “Our graduates who work successfully in different countries such as Turkey, Norway and America make us proud”.
Egemen: Students are prepared for business life before graduation by practicing
Egemen also emphasized that, in the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, they train graduates who can work all over the world as managers in the fields of tourism enterprises, customer services in the tourism sector, and as training staff who can adapt to the dynamic structure of the sector, in the fields of management of accommodation and food and beverage companies, travel agencies and tour operators.
Emphasizing that practical training is extremely important in the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts and Tourism Management Departments which are within the structure of the School of Tourism and Hotel Management, Egemen stated that serious investments are being made for the infrastructures of both departments in order to raise the quality bar more and more.
Egemen pointed out that in the EUL Lounge which is a social facility that serves to enable students to practice in a constantly growing and developing university, students perform practices and added that they get prepared for the business life before graduation by practicing.
Egemen: EUL Gastronomy Application Kitchen has all kinds of equipment
Egemen said that apart from preparing food and beverage in the EUL Gastronomy Application Kitchen which has all kinds of equipment, students of Tourism and Gastronomy also offer creative menus from world cuisines that they have made with professional chefs, to the university staff within the framework of service rules.
Egemen also emphasized that best agricultural products produced by the academicians, students and staff on the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences & Technologies application farm are being used in the menus prepared in the EUL Lounge Kitchen and added that Gastronomy and Tourism students prepare and serve healthy menus in accordance with the international hygiene rules and obtain a serious professional experience.
