Academicians of European University of Lefke Faculty of Health Sciences Assist. Prof. Dr. Nazal Bardak and Assist. Prof. Dr. Macide Artaç Özdal attended International Mediterranean Family Medicine Congress which was conducted in Barcelona and made verbal noticements.
Representing EUL at the congress, which was held with intense participation from many different countries, Bardak presented her study titled “The Effect of Medical Nutrition Therapy in Patients with Metabolic Syndrome” and Özdal “The Impact of Total Quality Management on the Performance of Healthcare Personnel in a Hospital in Nigeria”.
In her speech at the congress, academician of European University of Lefke Faculty of Health Sciences Assist. Prof. Dr. Nazal Bardak stressed that medical nutrition treatment reduces the adipose tissue, unbalanced energy intake and oxidative stress in the body, touched upon the importance of nutrition in the treatment of metabolic syndrome which is directly related with obesity and narrated the treatment process of 140 patient that she applied 3 months of observation and treatment with statistical data.
In the congress, Academician of Health Management Department Assist. Prof. Dr. Macide Artaç Özdal presented her study which evaluated the effect of the total quality management named method aimed at increasing quality in health care services on a health workers performances in a university hospital in Nigeria. Özdal expressed that the leadership, customer orientation and rewarding of the practices used in total quality management practices had a great influence on the performance of health personnel in line with the results of her survey study conducted on 106 health workers. In her presentation, Özdal pointed out that the most important strategy to improve the quality of health care services is to use health quality management practices. Özdal also stated that health care managers should use their total quality management practices carefully and effectively since the aim is to improve the performance of health care workers and thus the quality of health care services.
