Yükselen, “EUL Gastronomy Students filling us with Pride”

European University of Lefke (EUL) School of Tourism & Hotel Management Department of Gastronomy students came together with the University Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Yükselen.

Students of Gastronomy Department who won the first place in the “Best University” team category due to their success in the “2^nd International Food Festival” which took place in İzmir, visited Rector Yükselen in his office and presented him the championship cup.

In the visit which was accompanied by Academician of Gastronomy Department Zihni Türksel, Türksel pointed out that in all the competitions they attended, EUL students gained degrees in different categories, and that students gradually developed themselves in the field of Gastronomy. Türksel expressed that the students have achieved successes as a team during their semester as a result of their intensive and dedicated work, and that in such competitions students have had considerable experience before starting their postgraduate professional business life. During their visit, Türksel thanked Yükselen for their contributions.

Rector Yükselen congratulated the students who represented EUL in the best way at many international competitions, and stated that they would provide all the necessary support as a university for their success. Pointing out that achievements of the students are filling them with pride as the university, Yükselen said that they give utmost importance to practice and application in all the training programs. Yükselen added that in terms of practices of the Gastronomy students, they will continue to support similar competitions which will contribute to their professional development as the management.
