Establishing the Health Awareness from an Early Age is Very Important

4^th grade students of the European University of Lefke (EUL) School of Health Department of Nursing came together with the students receiving education at Lefke İstiklal Primary School, Yedidalga Primary School, Lefke Gazi High School and Cengiz Topel Industrial Vocational High School under the frame work of their social health lecture.

The trainings attracted the attention of junıor students

Students of the EUL Nursing Department offered trainings on “Hand Hygiene and Health” and “Proper Nutrition for Healthy Life” to the kidnergarden, 1^st and 2^nd grade students of the Lefke İstiklal Primary School and Yedidalga Primary School. The trainings which were in the form of interactive drama with the help of visual videos with music were followed with great interest by the junior students. At the end of the “Hand Hygiene and Health” titled seminar, the junior students were given balloons of gloves saying “wash me”, hand soap and bookmarkers prepared by the nursery students.

Technology addiction, violence, environmental awareness and addiction were emphasized in high schools

On the other hand, “Ecology and Environmental Awareness” and “What Technology Addiction takes from us” titles seminars were conducted ar the Lefke Gazi High School and this was followed by “Universal Wound; Violence” and “Substance Addiction: Take your Part in the Struggle” titled seminars at the Cengiz Topel Industrial Vocational High School.

Giving information about the project, Director of the School of Health Prof. Dr. Deniz Şelimen pointed out that the development of health awareness starting from childhood has an important role in the formation of healthy society in the future. She also pointed out that the most effective application for the prevention of many infectious diseases is washing hands with soap and water and added that “Our students tried to emphasize the importance of this to our children in their trainings. In our high school education, we tried to attract the attention of our young people to the subjects of technology addiction, violence, environmental awareness and addiction. In order to achieve social awareness, these trainings should be conducted more frequently”.
