While he was serving his society as a medical doctor, he organized the Turkish Cypriots who were scattered and continued the struggle for freedom until the end of his life.”
Yıldız summarized the life of founding President Rauf Raif Denktaş as; “He started to care about Turkish Cypriots struggle for existence when he was a 17 or 18 years old teenager. Later on he continued the struggle along with Dr. Fazul Küçük and he carried the flag that he took over from Küçük and crowned it with the Republic. Until the last days, even the last minutes of his 88 years of life he took part in the struggle fearlessly.”
Yıldız said that, as the EUL family they are bowing with respect in front of the memories of both statesmen whom we owe the existence and freedom of the Turkish Cypriot people and wished them mercy from Allah.
