European University of Lefke (EUL) Department of Dietetics and Nutrition organized an oath taking ceremony for the 2017-2018 graduates of Dietetics and Nutrition department. EUL Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Oğuz, Dean of Health Sciences Faculty Prof. Dr. Ruhi Selçuk Tabak, Head of Dietetics and Nutrition Department Prof.Dr.Nevin Aktaş, academicians and families attended the ceremony in which the graduates took the first steps of their profession.

The ceremony started with a moment of silence followed with the Turkish National Anthem. The program included the speeches of Eda Alparslan on behalf of the graduates, Head of Dietetics and Nutrition Department Nevin Aktaş, Dean of Health Sciences Faculty Prof. Dr. Ruhi Selçuk Tabak and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Oğuz.

Alparslan:  European University of Lefke has been the most important step of our education lives.

Alparslan said that, “Today we came to the end of a challenging and a lovely road which started with the intense effort of our precious teachers. European University of Lefke has been the most important step of our education lives. Because the key to success in the profession that we chose has been given to us at our university. Our teachers have raised us as literate persons who are followed in social life, in technology, in science and in our professional lives rather than following the requirements of the times. I would like to thank all of our teachers who have guided our path”.

Aktaş: You will perform your duty as Dieticians who have scientific and ethical values, who follow, research and implement developments in the field

In her speech, Head of Dietetics and Nutrition Department Nevin Aktaş said that, “Today we are experiencing the well-deserved pride and happiness of giving graduates for the third time. Our beloved students who started their education in the academic year of 2014 – 15 have successfully completed the necessary conditions in this term and they are qualified to practice dietician profession by receiving the Nutrition and Dietetics Graduate Diploma and Dietitian title. You have gone through a comprehensive academic program, you are graduating as Dieticians with the knowledge of your duties and responsibilities. I believe that you will perform your duty as Dieticians who have scientific and ethical values, who follow, research and implement developments in the field. I would like to thank Rector of our university Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Yükselen and other directors of our univeristy for proving us with neccesities that were needed to raise qualified students”.

Tabak: Your success will be our success as well.

In his speech Dean of Health Sciences Faculty Prof. Dr. Ruhi Selçuk Tabak said that, “The beginnings and finishes excite us as well, because we go through all of the process together with our students. We had a great time with our graduates. In addition to the academic processes of the students, we have conducted many activities that will raise awareness in the field of health and make the society conscious. Despite leaving today as a graduate, your learning process will continue. Your success will be our success as well”. Tabak also said that, “As a faculty, our aim has always been to prepare our students, in the most competent manner, to the profession and to life. I would like to thank our academicians who have educated our students by keeping the academic barn at the highest level and who have not given up their hard work in this way”.

Oğuz:

EUL Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Oğuz said that, “I would like to congratulate our beloved graduates and their parents, I wish success for our graduates. We are confident that you will overcome the difficulties that will arise, and I believe that you will develop yourself further on this path”. Oğuz also said that, “You will have a new life, equipped with the qualifications required by your profession, and you will have the excitement and enthusiasm of using what you have learned in 4 years. There is no doubt that you will succeed in your career and professional life by further developing your skills”.

The ceremony ended with the graduates of Dietetics and Nutrition Department taking their profession oath with the leadership of Head of Dietetics and Nutrition Department Prod.Dr.Nevin Aktaş.
