European University of Lefke (EUL) continued with strawberries grown in the Yeşilırmak region, the second of the local products festivals organized on the days of “Healthy Life with Domestic Products”. As part of the event, fresh strawberries were distributed to students, while pudding, tartlet and milkshake students from EUL Gastronomy Department students were prepared from fresh strawberries in the Practice Cuisine.
Strawberries were offered to EUL students by the students of the Gastronomy Department at the stands set up in two separate locations on the campus of EUL.
Students who visited the stands in the framework of the event voiced their thoughts:
Muslim Gören: I am a junior student in the Department of Classroom Teaching. The event, which aimed to introduce us local products belonging to the region in our first year in EUL, was benefitial for us. Orange activity took place last week, such activities are important for the promotion of the region.
Munevver Memmedova: I came from Azerbaijan. I’m a senior in Health Administration. It was healthy to have many refreshments from local and organic products and to be presented to us. I want the activities to continue according to the season. It was a good activity for the socialization of the students.
Elif Kaval: I am a senior student at the Department of Health Management. It was a stressful period for us, and in this period, as it allowed me to move away from the stress. It was also a great opportunity to present each fruit to students during their season.
Gülben Gülten-Duygu Aydemir: We are students in the Department of Preschool Teaching. It was an interesting activity with the coming of summer. We are delighted that different tastes are offered to us at events organized by local products. It is motivating us to organize various activities of the university actively. Continuous school-lesson activity is a different activity that contributes to my socialization.
Taha Aydın: I am a third-year student at the Law School. It makes us happy that such events are on the campus. Whether it is orange or strawberries, it is important for us to reflect the cultural significance of these activities.
Şahin Köksal: I am a Psychological Counseling and Guidance third year student. It was a good activity for the region to promote its own product. I was delighted to have this activity before the exams, and I would like to keep these kinds of activities going.
Safa Berat Arık: I am a first year student in Psychology Department. In such events, we are very pleased with the local products. I was happy to see such activities in my first year.
Tapiwanashe Mushai and Fadziso Tokora: We are students of the Faculty of Engineering. It was a very nice event. We would like to repeat such activities. We thank the rector who organized the event.
